Dr Martin Webb and Dr Christian Weber were fortunate enough recently to be interviewed for an article by Leigh Robshaw of the Hinterland Times monthly magazine. The Hinterland Times was just voted the top Regional Newspaper for the third year in a row at the recent Queensland Country Press Awards.
The article featuring Banksia House Dental Surgery appeared in the October edition. Click here to view the full article http://www.hinterlandtimes.com.au/2013/10/06/maleny-dentists-take-their-skills-outside-the-surgery/
There were several items of interest in the article. these included…
- Dr Martin Webb’s becoming a Fellow of the International College of Dentists (FICD) http://www.icd.org/
- Dr Christian Weber’s three week long volunteering trip with Pacific Yacht Ministries to Vanuatu in August http://pym.org.au/
- Banksia House Dental Surgery becoming one of the first private dental practices in Queensland to be awarded accreditation.
- Our concerns regarding the lack of Government funding for the “working poor” to be able to access first world class dentistry in Australia.
Christian attracts some curious onlookers..
I really feel the article reflects the practices’ philosophy of giving back whenever you are able. This is reflected in Martin volunteering his time to promote the field of dentistry within Australia. Christian volunteering his skills to those far less fortunate than ourselves is indicative of his caring, giving nature, and as such comes very naturally to him (this is his second trip of this nature). Accreditation shows the practices effort to maximise our compliance and governance to ensure the highest possible level of patient care, which is our central philosophy.
